Connecting Communities to Nature Trails
[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]
Gorge Towns to Trails is a vision to create a comprehensive trail system that wraps around the Columbia Gorge to link communities with recreation, promote tourism and highlight the beauty of the Columbia Gorge.
In 2011 Friends of the Columbia Gorge (gorgefriends.org) put this vision in to motion. They set a goal to build nearly 60 miles of trail connecting Gorge urban areas to National Scenic Area lands throughout Oregon and Washington. Please find more info at Gorge Towns to Trails: Making the Connection page in gorgefriends.org.
With the help of community leaders, citizens and elected officials, the towns of Washougal and Camas have embraced this vision. Together we are working towards a future that links our wondrous outdoor heritage with our vibrant city centers and makes nature more accessible for residents and visitors alike.
